How Common Pay hired 14 engineers in one quarter
A fintech with 320 people, a backlog of roles and a recruiting team of three. What they changed and what they measured.
Common Pay is a 320-person fintech with fourteen open engineering roles and a talent team of three. Before Rafaelo, each recruiter was running more than twenty searches in parallel, and the backlog was growing faster than it was shrinking.
What they changed
- Moved to Rafaelo ATS in nine days, including data migration
- Let the agent write and publish every job post across six channels
- Switched all interviews to the built-in app with the notetaker on
- Adopted a single weighted scorecard for every engineering role
What happened
Within the quarter they hired all fourteen engineers. Interviews per role rose from five to sixteen because scheduling stopped being the bottleneck. Notetaker summaries meant hiring managers could join debriefs without re-reading CVs.
I used to open six tabs for a single job post. Now I type what I need, and when I'm back from lunch the shortlist is ready.
The team did not grow. The same three recruiters now spend most of their time talking to candidates instead of coordinating them.
